HAVE A GO MEET INFORMATION - OCT 11, 2025
Hello - and Welcome to Blenheim Swimming Club!
We are hosting a swimming competition (known as a meet) at Stadium 2000 on October 11th.
If your child enjoys their swimming lessons in the 2m pool at the Stadium - we would love for them to come along and give racing a try! As part of the afternoon session of the meet, we will have fun races for the following events:
25 meters freestyle (1 length)
25 meters backstroke (1 length)
25 meters breaststroke (1 length)
Your swimmer does not have to dive into the pool. They can start on the side of the pool or even in the water - it’s up to them. We will record their time onto a piece of paper and give it to them to keep. We will have one of our junior coaches available to chat to parents if they are keen on learning more about the Blenheim Swimming Club.
We will have senior swimmers from Blenheim (some of whom they may have known as swim teachers!) to assist them.
There is no charge for this event, and our plan is that swimmers keen to participate will arrive at the pool towards the end of our warm-up at 2:45. They should be in their swimming togs at that time and we will have a lane for them to practice for a few minutes in. They should have goggles and we definitely recommend a swimming cap - especially for those with longer hair.
Please ensure your swimmer is able to complete the distance required - they do not have to be fast, but we do want them to have the confidence they can complete the distance!
