BSC MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY

Blenheim Swimming Club (BSC) is committed to following Swimming New Zealand’s Member Protection Policy. This policy is set out HERE and all members are required to be aware of the policy and adhere to its contents. All Blenheim Swimming Club paid staff, volunteer coaches and team managers (for away meets) have been independently screened and police vetted.

BSC have appointed an independent parent who will advise and assist any swimmer or parent on matters relating to the Member Protection Policy. This person is a legal professional and will act independently from the BSC Committee. Please contact Lowri McNabb with any requests for information on this matter.

Swimming New Zealand have advised they have appointed a dedicated Child Protection Adviser to deal with all matters related to Child Protection and Safety and they can be reached at mpa@swimming.org.nz.

BSC SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

BSC members are reminded that Stadium 2000 has a policy that photographs are not to be taken inside the pool facility without express permission. BSC members are also reminded that no social media posts are to be made involving Club members during BSC training or meets, outside the official BSC Social Media platforms.

We understand that many Club members have phones and other devices for homework and parental contact but these devices should not be used poolside for any purpose other than that.

BSC PHOTO POLICY

Blenheim Swimming Club policy is that we will not identify a child by name on a photograph for any publicity purposes including (but not limited to) our website, Facebook Page, other social media or press coverage without express permission to do so for that particular image.

SNZ CODE OF CONDUCT

All parents and swimmers registered with BSC are required to sign a membership form each year, declaring they will abide by the SNZ Code of Conduct.
