The sport of swimming requires a high degree of parental involvement.
Each meet held by the Blenheim Swimming Club must run to a standard set by Swimming New Zealand and requires timekeepers, inspectors of turns, judges of stroke, starters and referees. It is expected that each swimmer at a club meet provides an adult to assist the club in the running of that meet.
Hannah is our Club official expert and will co-ordinate training for you to fulfil these positions. It is a progressive qualification system and there are opportunities to train to regional and/or national standard if you want to take your officiating further.
