The sport of swimming requires a high degree of parental involvement.

Each meet held by the Blenheim Swimming Club must run to a standard set by Swimming New Zealand and requires timekeepers, inspectors of turns, judges of stroke, starters and referees. It is expected that each swimmer at a club meet provides an adult to assist the club in the running of that meet.

Lees Seymour is the regional technical official expert and will train you to fulfil these positions. It is a progressive qualification system and there are opportunities to train to regional and/or national standard if you want to take your officiating further.
